Offer Calculator
The brief
During my time as a UX/UI Designer within Specsavers IT Department, I was asked by the retail team to design an application that would allow store store to easily calculate what combinations of offers a customer was eligible to take advantage of.
This application was of particular interest for the business because the possible combinations of offers was particularly confusing for store staff. Until this application was proposed, store staff were having to rely on paper forms and their own memory of the available offers and the conditions to which they were applied. This led to both human error in terms of incorrect offers being applied and a poor customer experience.
The solution
Working alongside a BA and Architect, we designed a prototype application that represented how such an application would function.
The application design relied heavily on the use of switches to enable and disable the customisable options available to the customer in terms of their frames and lenses and then calculated the offers available as a result.
To aid the sales process, multiple scenarios were able to be stored and compared, as well as compound offers available to customers buying multiple glasses.
Upon completion the prototype was used to gain quotes from external suppliers for a final application.
